The Role You Will Play
  • Effectively support multiple teams/indications from a scientific perspective
  • Literature search on background of drug and/or therapeutic category in keeping with strategic direction
  • Work in partnership with account services counterpart
  • Understand, execute and contribute strategic direction
  • Cultivate existing relationships with key opinion leaders and initiate new relationships to drive appropriate communication strategies and content
  • Engage in client interaction including running teleconferences and client meetings, answering questions regarding content issues, attend meetings & demonstrate knowledge of content
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure that materials meet clients’ strategic specifications
  • Serve as a medical expert on internal teams, and with clients
  • Oversee work of scientific associates and associate medical directors as needed, and provide mentoring/training to new or more junior team members
  • Critique drafts, query and identify resources needed to meet deadline/deliverable and within budget
  • Facilitate submissions of materials for medical, legal, and regulatory reviews
  • Manage freelance writers – assign projects, provide direction
  • Partner with account services and finance on timelines and resource utilization
  • Identify and secure business opportunities on account (e.g. organic growth)
 
Background Profile
  • Advanced degree in biomedical sciences (ie, PhD, PharmD, MD)
  • 3-5 years in pharmaceutical industry or agency experience across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment to develop and execute scientific communications and promotional initiatives for clients
  • Working knowledge of pharma regulations on promotion
  • Demonstrated ability and comfort with presenting to large groups and acting as knowledge expert
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/initiatives in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to interpret data, develop key insights and assess the impact of recommendations on client business objectives
