Background Profile
  • PHD, PharmD Medical Writing experience with a pharmaceutical or medical communications agency
  • Expertise in medical education/medical communications or similar field in a client-facing medical lead role, responsible for development of clinical content.
  • Able to effectively interact with clients and healthcare professionals and provide independent medical direction

The Role You will Play:
  • Serve as medical point person on Merck and Company.
  • Interact and work directly with clients participating in client-facing and internal strategic brainstorming and brand planning sessions
  • Contributes to project quality and outcomes by demonstrating in‑depth technical expertise of assigned therapeutic category areas
  • Develop medically-related content for a full range of deliverables (manuscripts, slide presentations, advisory boards, posters, strategy guides, monographs, etc)
  • Review content from copywriters and freelancers for accuracy and appropriateness
  • Work closely with account and strategic services for the assigned account
  • Lead all projects within the account to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Directly oversee medical and copy writers' work
  • Provide strategic direction across projects
  • Discuss medical content with pharmaceutical clients, medical professionals, KOLs, and managed care customers
  • Partner with both account and creative teams to build content that meets the objectives of strategic imperatives
  • Partner with editorial to ensure scientific and editorial accuracy of jobs
  • Attend medical, legal, regulatory review meetings
  • Execute aspects of administrative responsibilities (time sheets, project timelines, creative manager) in a detailed and timely manner
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings, status meetings, and scientific services team meetings
  • Participate in new business proposals
  • Respond to needs of team and management
  • Oversee non-billable activities within the clinical department with regard to organization of lunch and learns, development of a database of clinicians for consultation, and literature searches to ensure awareness fo pipeline activity
