AVP, Group Account Director (Relocation Available) - Show Me What GREAT Looks Like!

Our agency client has an excellent track record for success and specializes in driving creative and consultative solutions to more than 60 biopharmaceutical brands and has been successful in creating an effective business model that includes an emphasis on the culture of the agency. They seek an AVP, Group Account Director.
Client Management:
  • Maintain/improve client relationships and retention of current account relationships, ensuring client satisfaction is achieved 
  • Liaise with client on a periodic basis to ascertain strategic brand or departmental direction
  • Provide client with business solutions and demonstrate expertise in managed markets
Project Management:
  • Liaise with internal teams to coordinate logistical components of program development, execution and budget management 
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality control of client materials and develop best practices protocols for project teams 
  • Lead internal teams to ensure project timelines are met, quality of work is high, and communication is fluid with all parties
  • Attend internal meetings with payer strategists, client services, meeting services, project management, and other key staff to discuss project status
  • Manage direct reports to ensure they meet/exceed customer needs and expectations on a daily basis
  • Exhibit a mastery to staff and clients of the health care industry, the medical marketing and communications field, disease-specific issues and clinical data that are of vital importance to clients
Business Development:
  • Contribute to new business creative, strategic and program development as requested by Senior Leadership
  • Responsible for organic growth of existing client project work and up-selling where appropriate
  • Provide periodic budget status updates and communication with client
  • Ensure budgets and project estimates are accurate and appropriately represent required project hours
  • Manage proposal development, project management, projections, reconciliation & forecasting to meet corporate and account goals
Qualifications, minimum requirements for the AVP, Group Account Director:
  • 8+ years of experience with a pharmaceutical advertising agency or in a medical communications company to include 5+ years in direct client/ brand account management.  
  • Experience being the principal client liaison managing the client relationship
  • Product launch experience 
Other required:
  • Experience supervising team members
  • Travel enabled 10% 
  • Experience in managing a large book of business 
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with managed markets 
  • Bachelor Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related subject
