Senior Medical Editor

Location: Morris County, NJ
 
 
 
 
The editor’s responsibilities are to support internal client teams on new business and existing accounts by verifying accuracy of data and claims in client materials by ensuring correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. The editor will see to it that all pieces are adherent to AMA style, and, where applicable, client style guidelines. The Editor is also responsible for maintaining/creating quick reference editorial guides for each brand to support editorial accuracy.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Proofs, copy edits, and fact checks a variety of promotional materials, including but not limited to product brochures, print and digital templates, sales training materials, e-mails, marketing announcements
  • Demonstrates and develops a working understanding of medical terminology and a strong command of the English language
  • Should be thoroughly versed in American Medical Association (AMA) style and familiar with locating references on pubmed
  • Ensures correct grammar, spelling, usage, and adherence to AMA, agency, and client styles
  • Validates accuracy of data and claims by thoroughly fact checking references
  • Ensures brand-specific style is consistent throughout jobs
  • Directs appropriate queries to project managers, writers, account directors, and other reviewers
  • Acts as a resource for internal teams relative to AMA style and brand consistency Works with the Managing Editor and the Project Management Department to keep jobs routing through the system and ensure prioritization of jobs/materials
  • Maintains and updates assigned client style guides
 
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, 
  • 3-5 years of medical editing experience
  • Strong Familiarity with AMA style guidelines
  • Previous Pharma Agency Exp.
