Web Designer - Bring your 2-3 years experience to the table ( Freelance to Perm)

Location: Chicago, IL
 
An Interactive Designer creates the overall look and feel of a wide range of digital media—implementing front-end design, UX and all associated programming.
 
The Interactive Designer also innovates new ways to enhance user experiences, ensures that there are effective tracking mechanisms in place to analyze performance and trains the client in content management and other web applications.
 
Working with  our account management, the Interactive Designer quickly responds to client input and ensures that work is performed on time, on budget and on-strategy.
 
Essential to this position are experience with design software, hosting environments; HTML, CSS and CMS programming; SEO optimization; knowledge of e-marketing; client communication skills; and strong strategic-driven creative thinking.
 
 

 
These are an Interactive Designer’s primary responsibilities in more detail:
 
Software
  • Stay up-to-date on interactive trends, including design/UX, navigation, and new products.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite
  • Ability to write raw markup/code utilizing text based editors
  • Extensive knowlege of HTML 5 and CSS 3
  • Basic understanding of Javascript/Jquery programming
  • Experience with Responsive Design practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as GIT
  • Basic understanding of PHP frameworks as it relates to current CMS platforms
  • Ability to design and maintain e-marketing communications utilizing latest email fulfillment tools
 
Account team & Client Relationships
  • Keep the account team informed on all project statuses and complete assignments before or on deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the account manager to ensure that the client’s needs are always met.
  • Align the interactive perspective with the client business objectives
  • Participate in client meetings
 
Stay open to new ideas
  • Always look for ways to improve and enhance the project execution
  • Be knowledgeable about websites, email, newsletters, digital ads and other products
  • Provide advice or input if/when necessary
